Stuck-Up
Yes, there are times where
I am privy towards irrationality
And ideals,
But know that my soul’s light can
Blind the sight of a man

Plus, my heart’s make-up is virtually
Indestructible,
Because heartache and struggle

Strengthens my resolve
To attack life with arms wide open.

Poetry Twice Removed
I want to write
But my fingers
Are bondservants to academia.
I desire to lose my thoughts
In a poetic process
For a little while.
Or for the rest of my days
Allow my mind to muse
Over mountaintops
And venture through valleys.
Get lost
Perhaps to find my way.
Because my melancholy
Is meaningless without poetry.
My life is a vapor
Unless I can catch the cinder
